Signs your dryer needs a technician
Runs but no heat
Usually a heating element, thermal fuse, cycling thermostat or, on gas models, igniter or gas valve coils. We meter each part before replacing anything.
Takes two or three cycles
Often a restricted vent or a weak element. We check airflow at the exhaust and tell you honestly if the vent run, not the dryer, is the problem.
Squealing, thumping or scraping
Worn drum rollers, idler pulley, belt or drum glides. Caught early, these are straightforward repairs.
Will not start or stops mid-cycle
Door switch, start switch, motor overload, control board or a tripped thermal fuse caused by overheating.
Burning smell
Stop using it. Lint build-up near the heater or a failing motor needs attention before it becomes a safety issue.
